Classic Matryoshka

The Traditional collection celebrates the origins of the nesting doll — the iconic peasant woman in her headscarf and apron, painted with the bold reds, golds, and greens that have defined the art form since 1890. These dolls are direct descendants of the first matryoshka created by Zvyozdochkin and Malyutin in Sergiev Posad. Each set is turned from a single block of linden wood and painted by hand using techniques unchanged for over a century.
